Treweren Consultants Ltd is pleased to announce an agency agreement with Venta Discovery Ltd to resell the THINK software in Europe and North America. "We aim to further develop and sell software to significantly reduce the timescales for drug discovery and to provide a bigger and better choice of molecules for lead optimisation and development", commented Keith Davies, Scientific Director of Treweren Consultants. "The ability to perform virtual screening quickly on millions of molecules and analyse data from experimental and virtual screening using pharmacophores is unique". David Spender founded Venta Discovery and was Sales Director at Chemical Design where he worked closely with Keith Davies. He has over 20 years experience in selling to Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies for vendors including Molecular Design, Oxford Molecular, Accelrys and CambridgeSoft. "I look forward to working with Keith again and demonstrating the proven capabilities of the THINK software", commented David Spender. Treweren Consultants was founded by Keith Davies following the sale of Chemical Design to Oxford Molecular in 1998. Its THINK software was used in the Oxford University/United Devices CAN-DDO Internet project in which 3.5 billion molecules where screened against 12 protein anti-cancer targets. This is believed to be the largest distributed processing computing project of its kind harnessing the power of over 1 million computers world-wide. The software is now being used by Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies in-house for virtual screening as well as in the Find-a-Drug GRID computing project. Some preliminary results of this project where announced in July showing an exceptional high accuracy of predicted cancer growth inhibitors.
